FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) is a competition that is apart of an international organisation called FIRST®. FIRST® stands for "For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology". Each year FIRST® releases a theme for each of it's competitions, FLL, FTC and FRC and also releases the new seasons challenges. FLL consists of 3 main parts each related to that years them: core values, project and robot game.

The core values are the heart and soul of FIRST®, these are gracious professionalism and coopertition, they are shown through the FLL values of (forgot the first one) innovation, inclusion, impact, teamwork and fun! Based upon the theme for that year students find a problem and research and coonsult with experts to create an innovative solution. In the robot game teams use the LEGO® Mindstorms robotics kit or SPIKE Prime kit to design/build an autonomous robot to complete challenges on a field.
